I caught the train for a short ride towards the mountains and the summer/winter resort town of Bled. Its a ski resort in winter and an adventure hub in summer. It also helps that lake bled is a stunning is somewhet small lake.
The lake features a castle overlooking the lake and a small island with a church on it in the middle. With forest all around and quaint little villages, but a few resorts that don’t overwhelm bled too much, the town is quite a nice little place.

I’m spending two night here. Many said its only worth a day trip! Today i climbed to the castle to get views from there. Its unfortunate that the weather turned for the worse as the day went on.
I also tried a piece of Bled slice. Its apparently world famous. It is very nice but essentially a vanilla slice with a layer of cream on top of the vanilla part. So you have pastry, vanilla custard, cream, pastry and dusted with icing sugar
Anyway i do have tomorrow to hopefully cycle or walk around the lake, I may even get some sunshine, although similar weather to today is forecast.
